Chinese New Year

As you read this I am on a plane to China to visit my parents for Chinese New Year. To celebrate I did some red and gold nails. This is the year of the Snake so I did a tiny snake on my thumb. My nail art skills aren’t that great yet as I am just starting so the snake looks a little funny but the more you try the more you get better.

So I started with 1 coat of OPI Matte Nail Envy as my base coat. For the Gold Nails, I used 1 coat of China Glaze Magnetix in Gold Fusion, I know it is a magnetic polish but it was just the right colour for what I wanted. On top of that I used a thick coat of Wet n Wild in Gold and the Beautiful. The Red nails I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen XtremeWear in Red Carpet, it is also the best Christmas red I have ever found. The badly executed snake on my thumb was done using the China Glaze Magnetix in Gold Fusion. The top coat I used was Revlon Extra Life No Chip Top Coat.

As I am going to China and will be unable to reach WordPress from there unfortunately I will have no posts because I have been so crazy preparing for the trip that it took me 3 days just to take a picture of these nails and had to redo some of them because they had chipped already, not a really good sign for a No Chip top coat. Now off to practice drawing snakes, wish me luck!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

New Year 2013

I hope you all have had a great New Year’s Eve and I hope you like this New Years theme manicure I did. I used OPI Matte Nail Envy as my base coat and Revlon Extra Life No Chip Top Coat as what else 😉 a top coat. The blue is Kleancolor in Lake Mist and only one coat. The glitter is a gradient done with Sally Hansen Xtreme wear in Rockstar Pink.

Have a great New Year!!

Thanks for Reading! :) :)

Winter Wonderland

Today I have a winter manicure for you, although that was probably obvious by the title 🙂 .

Snowflake So to make this manicure I used 2 coats of OPI Nail Envy Matte as a base coat. Next I applied 2 coats of Essie Aruba Blue and the snowflake was made with LA Colors Art Deco Nail Art Brush in White. I was going to finish it there but it didn’t look quite finished so I used a coat of  Sally Hansen Extreme Wear in Disco Ball which is a nice iridescent but somewhat clear sparkle coat. ( I know that it is a bad description but that is what comes to mind when I look at it) To seal in the beauty I used 2 coats of Revlon Extra Life No Chip Top Coat and one very glossy coat of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails with Nylon in nude. I don’t think that the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails is available anymore.  I will hopefully have a Christmas Nail Haul up soon just hoping the weather will get better soon so I can take some good pictures, so stay tuned!

Thanks for Reading! 🙂 🙂
